Pole to Pole - Self Initiated Project 2020
Featuring illustrations from the Arctic and Antarctic, created digitally during lockdown
Inspired by the beauty of the polar regions and their endemic species through re-watching the BBC series ‘Frozen Planet’ and researching famous Antarctic expeditions such as the ill-fated Terra Nova expedition of 1910–1913, which was immortalised by the famous Herbert Ponting 'Ice Cave' photograph from 1911.
In tribute to explorers past and present, I created a full colour interpretation featuring the British Antarctic Surveys Royal Research Ship, 'Sir David Attenborough' through a modern day 'ice cave'.
